Barry & Christy invited everyone for a beach/snorkeling day at Makena Beach (their favorite beach). We had a little trouble finding it....and A LOT of trouble finding parking but evenutally we found it. We were late...but even when we got there Barry & Christy weren't their yet (fashionably late!)
Christy enjoying her last day as a single women
Barry is on the right....he is too pale from living in Seattle to take off his shirt!
Holly & John (Christy's dad and stepmom)
The DeBruin clan...hiding under umbrellas (it was a very hot day)
This is the famous Makena Resort....absolutely gorgeous!
This was a big coral reef. We all took turns snorkeling. I went out for a few minutes...but instantly started feeling seasick so a retreated to the shore!

Paddle Boarder. This is something I really wanted to try while we were in Maui....but there just wasn't enough time plus Brian thought it would be stupid. On the otherhand....he really wanted to try surfing and there wasn't enough time and I thought it was stupid! Every good marriage has compromise!!!!
At the end of the day Brian and I went exploring and we followed along Makena drive...until it dead ends into a huge lava field. I learned that this was the last Lava flow in Maui in the 1790's. It was awesome to say the least. It wasn't the super smooth black rock that you imagine....it was a reddish brown color...and it looked like it would rip you to shreds it was so jagged.
